Nero version 6

I have heard that Nero Version 6 will allow one to record streaming audio into mp3 so that you can burn it onto CD. I am guessing the companion Nero Media Player is the device that is used for this? I downloaded the WMAPlugin20933.exe
but still cannot figure out how to record a streaming audio onto my hard drive using Nero. Any help appreciated! Mark

 

WMAPlugin2093.exe is the Nero Plugin used by Windows Media Player to burn CD's, and it's already installed by default with Windows Media Player.

It is not used by Nero and doesn't require Nero to be installed.

As far as I'm aware, Nero doesn't record streaming audio and Nero Media Player is just that, a media player.

I may be wrong as I've never tried, but I don't recall that feature.

 

Thanks for reply. From what I can see, you are absolutely correct. A few weeks ago, I downloaded a program for $19.95 I believe called Audio or Sound Recorder by Arcsoft. I'm not on my cpu at home, so unsure. It records streaming audio, but is very buggy and unreliable. No replies to their offer for email help. Any suggestions appreciated for a clean program for this purpose. I use Windows 98, Pentium III. (Adobe Audition is pretty steep priced for me)

 

I've never recorded streaming audio, so I can't offer advice based on experience.

Freecorder is freeware and seems okay if your needs are basic.

HEREis some information and HERE are some shareware programs.

 

Winamp Pro 5 will record streaming audio with the Streamripper plugin. I use and it works.


If you go that route I can give you a couple of tweaks for the settings
