Nero vision and .avi files

    Rig:
    Amd 3500+
    Radeon x1600XT
    1 Gig Ram
    250 Gig harddrive
    Biostar Tforce4 U mobo
    Windows XP professional SP2

    Problem:
    I'm using Nero 7 ultra edition, specifically Nero Vision (the video editing software). When ever I import .avi files it only sees them as audio files. The audio will play but I don't get any video. Windows Media player and Windows movie maker have to problem with these .avi files. Suggestions?

    have you tried to reinstalling your NERO andHave you tried to update your video/audio codecs?

    how would i go about updating my codecs? No I haven't tried reinstalling but I'll give it a try if this codec updating thing doesn't work.
