Nero won't allow burning a 2nd time

I just spent the last hour carefully selecting 500mb of files that I wanted to backup onto CD using Nero Burning Rom 6. Clicked 'Burn' and it went to it. After trying to verify the data, I received the message that data verification had failed. I erased the CD-RW and tried to burn it again but all of the files I just added are all grayed out in Nero. I cannot reburn the compilation I have in front of me for some reason.

How do I get Nero to allow me reburn the compilation that just failed without spending another hour creating a new compilation of the same files I just tried to backup?? Even if I do that I don't know if the cd writing will fail and I will have to create the compilation all over again after the 2nd attempt, 3rd attempt, etc.

If I remember the order right, you can click on "save" before "burn" and save it as a .nri file (in documents) -- did you happen to do that?

(probably not or you'd remember and not be asking this question -- but I just thought I'd ask in case you forgot you actually did that step).

 

Yep, did that, but Nero still won't let me burn the compilation a 2nd time.

Everytime I open the .nri file, all files in the compilation are grayed out by Nero. Hitting the Burn button doesn't burn anything.

 

Did you try a different CD-RW?

 

I have tried others. Makes no difference. Same goes for any CD-R. If I burn one copy, I can't burn another CD-R if the first disc I burn gets messed up.
