Nero wont uninstall?

I was going through my add/remove to remove some programs that I dont use anymore and Nero was one of them. I clicked on uninstall, its sort of went through the motions of uninstalling but right before it looked to be done I got this message.

Then directly after I got this message but I was trying in UNinstall not install.

Finally I thought maybe if I put in the disk to "install" it again, it would let me install then I could uninstall it. To which I got this message.

If you are trying to uninstall the Nero7 version - you should try using the Nero7 CleanTool

If you are trying to uninstall the Nero8 version - you should try using the Nero8 CleanTool

Note: Make sure that you carefully follow the directions listed at those Nero Support links before you proceed! Copying the directions beforehand might be a good idea as well.

Thanks for your sugguestion. Unfortunately its Nero 5.5 (yes, I know its old, it came with a cd burner that was purchased a while back )

Any other suggestions?

You might try a "registry cleaning" software program such as CCleaner or perhaps Eusing Free Registry Cleaner to get rid of the leftover entries.

Both of these are freeware and are available for download here at Major Geeks:
CCleaner Slim (No Toolbar) 2.03.532
Eusing Free Registry Cleaner 1.6​

Please Note: I have found that when using the CCleaner registry cleaner; running the registry tool two or three times (in succession) often works better for getting rid of all of the formerly uninstalled software application "leftovers" than just running it once.

Also be sure to create a System Restore point using the Windows System Restore utility prior to using either of these registry programs – just to be on the safe side.

I did try CCleaner last night and I got the same error message in my first post.

I didnt run it more then once, if that will make a difference I will try it but it was never "previously uninstalled" the first time I tried to uninstall it was last night.
