I just installed a 52x cd-rw (Mad Dog dominator) in my PC (Win 98se). The RW drive came with the cd burning software Nero 5.5. I was wondering if windows can be configured so that I could download from a web site directly to the rw drive (which is E). When I try this the message is "E is inacessable" or "E is Read Only". Is there any way to reconfigure Windows so that itrecognizes the new drive as a wrireable drive or is the problem with the burning sortware or the new RW drive? Thanks, Mike.

If I'm not mistaken, unless you have Windows XP, I don't think you can download straight to the CD drive. Windows XP has this built in burning software you can use to burn data to a CD. Otherwise, I believe you'd have to download it first, then use Nero to burn the data to the CD.

I could be wrong, so don't give up just yet! :)

You could use something like InCD for that I think.

It too, is made by Ahead Software.

both right, I would rather download and then use nero than using InCD. InCD is packet writing software and the machine you take that CD to has to have a packet reader installed. So if you're looking to download something and take it to a friends house then nero is the way to go.
