Hi all, my version of nero (6.3.0.6) doesn't recognize .wma file types, so I decided to download the WMA plug-in from nero's website, but after I got the plug-in downloaded, it acted as an .exe file and an installation wizard began, so i installed it but nero still doesn't recognize .wma files??? Is this the plug-in I needed --> http://www.nero.com/en/wma-plugin.php Usually, when I download a plug-in I just copy & paste it into the Ahead Common Files folder but with this download it was an .exe and it did nothing when I installed it...any ideas of what I'm doing wrong?

Very strange... that is the way I installed the WMA encode/decoding plugin, just double clicked the .exe and tested it with no issues.

Open up Nero and click File > Preferences and you should see a Plugin Lookup button.. click that and see if the WMA support has loaded.

BTW I'm using 6.3.1.6 ( not the latest ) version of Nero.

i'm up a creek without a paddle...I checked to see if the .wma format is recognized and it is so I tried installing the plug-in again and restarted and still no luck, I really don't know what's going on

I just located a few .wma's on my HD to test Nero with, steps I followed to get a cd that would play in any CD player ( plus my Car ) are...... ( please dont take this simplistic step by step in any way wrong as I dont mean it to be... its just the steps I took to get WMA to convert to a normal CD format )

open Nero Express > Music > Audio CD > Add > choose track/s thats in WMA format > Finish > Next > Burn

    then it played perfectly.

I would be tempted to uninstall nero and run a registry cleaner to remove all nero references then re-install > update and install the WMA plugin again, then try again.

well, i came to find out that the .wma files I was trying to burn using Nero were corrupted, somehow when I was ripping my cd something went wrong, so I re-ripped it and guess what...drumroll please...everything worked just fine :) thx for ur help in the matter halo, and I feel so dumb that I didn't check the plug-in with other .wma files, oh well, live & learn
