.Net Framework

Everytime i install .net framework form windows update, my computer goes slow as a turtle and sometimes the graphics flip out on me. Should i not allow windows update to install this? I am running windows xp professional with sp2.

I also have a ATI mobility radeon 9700 graphics card. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

 

I've never had a problem with .net framework.

You can leave it out, it's not critical, however some programs require it or they won't install.

If you can post system specs, or even better, attach an Everest log, someone might be able to offer some insight.

One thing concerns me in your Everest log.

It says "SMART Hard Disks Status............FAIL"

S.M.A.R.T is a monitoring program, enabled in the Bios, that warns you when your hard disk is dying.

It's not always perfect, however, I suggest you download a diagnostic utility for the hard drive from the manufacturer and check it, and also do a CHKDSK.
