    Hi all,

My sister recently purchased a netcomm nb6plus4w router.
We have had problems with it since day 1. It keeps resetting itself every 5 or so minutes, so I emailed netcomm support and they said it is a firmware problem and sent me a new firmware to fix it.. Well we got the resetting itself problem fixed, now when she plays Final Fantasy XI it just keeps disconnecting her from it after about 5 minutes, but everything like IE and messenger still work fine. It is just FFxi that keeps disconnecting her. Netcomm have been of no help to us after that firmware upgrade so does anybody know what the problem could be..
    (netcomm nb6plus4w firmware = 4.23w rev2)

    Thank You

Oh and I have tried forwarding all the ports for that game and still no luck..

Interesting thread on this from 2004 at:

Not much positive help there that you haven't tried already, but might be worth a look. One success (about the only one) was this (near the bottom of first page), but it didn't seem to get much acknowledgement from other posters, so I don't know if it's any good:

    Step 1: Turn OFF DHCP
Step 2: Assign each node a static IP

I am yet to try the DHCP method as my sister has gone away for a few days, and I have disbaled all the firewalls on her copmuter to see if that was the problem and it still didn't help thank thesmokingun for your reply.. Much appreciated for everyones help so far.
I will keep in touch and post the results after I try the DHCP method just in case anyone else is having the same troubles
