    Hi all,

I've set up my older laptop to project (mainly) Netflix/dvds to my TV. I just have the HDMI cord, and it has always worked great with my newer laptop.

The problem seems to be that the shows work fine on the laptop, sound, voice sync with audio etc. but when I project it to my TV, I the sync is off and also the picture is jerky. I don't know if "jerky" is the best word, jittery, you probably will understand what I am describing.

My laptop is running Vista Home Premium, SP2 32 bit. Like I said, I can play a movie/video fine until I project it to the TV.

Does anyone have an idea what I might try, or what would cause something like this? I'm sorry to say, I didn't think to hook up my newer laptop yet, but if you think I should try that, I will. Maybe I'll just do that while I wait and see if anyone is around:) Thanks all

Update: Yes, my newer laptop works fine with the HDMI & TV. I should have checked before I posted. So now it has to be the older laptop that is causing the issue. If anyone can help, I would appreciate it, but in the meantime, I'll see if I can find anything by googling, lol;)

Your laptop onboard graphics chip may not be up to the task of rendering full HD playback.

Thank you JP, for your reply. So I have a graphics chip you think?? LOL!! Sorry that I have no clue on that. It's an old setup as you can see, but wondering if there might still be a fix for it?

You failed to mention the brand and exact model of the Vista laptop. We need that information to see the hardware in it.
lack of RAM so it has to buffer, old drivers, video chip older than on the newer laptop, etc.

    Ok, my apologies, sec:

    Dell Studio, Model , oh, I don't see a Model #??

    It's a 32 bit, already mentioned that, Intel(R)Core(TM) 2 Duo CPU

Ok, well, maybe reviving it to play with the TV isn't feasible? It still runs for other uses. I just get tired of carrying my laptop over there, hooking it up for movies, then when done, carrying it back so I can play on it in the a.m. and come to fun places like Majorgeeks;)

Two laptops are better than one. No I can't afford to buy another new one;)
