I have a netgear 4-port cable router, connected to comcast cable. I have two computers networked through it, and every now and then, the internet stops working. I have to unplug and replug the router in, and then hit the repair button on the host computer in the network connections place. Does anyone know about this error?

There are several four-port models that have been produced by Netgear-- a model number would be helpful for others to be able to relate a common experience. I have an 8 port RO318 that occasionally hiccups, and my connection appears dead. I find that running the setup wizard, making no changes-- just accepting the values I have previously entered-- that, when complete, works again.

Actually, I get this too. I'm not sure whether its overheating or somthing else. Netgear did release a firmware update for all of their home cable/dsl routers a while ago to "prevent lockup issues".... but it didnt seem to work in my case.

When my connection freezes the lights stop blinking and you cant log into the web-admin interface. I just turn it off by the switch for 17 seconds and turn it back on. Usually does the trick.
