Netgear wgt624

Set up Comcast hispeed connected through a comcast modem to a motorola voice terminal for vonage telephone service and then the netgear is connected to the motorola for wireless access.

Lately the netgear has been dropping 2-3 times a day (though today has been even more) the vonage\motorola terminal is not losing connectivity therefore I believe the problem is with the netgear router. Ive read a couple of threads indicating this model has problems with overheating but this does not seem to be the problem.

Each and every time the only correction needed is to unplug the netgear router and I regain connection but that is of course very annoying to do several times a day. The router is several years old but I don't know if that should be a factor or not.

I use firefox with no script and some of the troubles occur when I go to sites such as myspace, college humor, or open yahoo messenger. I don't go to myspace often but today when trying to look at a page I got knocked off 3 times.
