    Wireless router WGR614 v9 Win7 x 64
This router worked before I tried to set a new passphrase and password.
I am exchanging pcs and wanted to erase this data.
I tried the discs which said they could not work as I had a card in the pc.
I could write 192.168.1.1 for a while to go through the settings like I used to but no longer can.
I reset the router both manually and within the program.
I saw "connected" but no intenet on both pcsbefore I reset.
The reset was a last attempt to strt over.
I tried clicking icons to figure out what to do to conect.
I am not skilled with routers but managed before I tried this change.
I'd like to think there is an issue with Win 7 x64 and this older router but it was working before I tried to rewrite data.
I would really apprecite some help with this. I have read the manual and I cannot do it alone as I do not understand some of wht is said.
    Thank you
    Peter

I am responding to my own post as I spoke with a tech at Netgear who said they are charging 65 to 95 dollars to modify both Windows and the router as they are not compatible. Each company is blaming the other for not updating firmware and offering drivers.
I hope others read this b/c I tore my hair out for two days trying to figure out why I was connected but had no internet.
I am getting a new router that is compatible rather than donate to their fund and have to jump through hoops.

Routers are not OS specific, there is no "Windows 7 router"
How are you connecting to the router now? Best if your wired to it for this.

If you go to RUN and type CMD, you'll get a black box or 'console'
    Type IPCONFIG and enter

Look for your GATEWAY address. Open IE or Frefox and type in the address bar that address ie 192.168.1.1
If you router is not handing out ip addresses you'll get a 169.x.x.x starting address - reset the router again

You'll get a promt for username and password - you may have set it up with the CD before.
You don't have to use the CD to set up the router, you can go to the web interface (via the gateway address)

    ftp://downloads.netgear.com/files/WGR614v9_SM_26Oct07.pdf

To restore the factory default configuration settings:
    1. Use a sharp object such as a pen or a paper clip to press and hold the restore factory settings
button, located on the rear panel of the router, for about 20 seconds, until the Test light begins
to blink (see “Router Back Panel” on page 4).
    2. Release the restore factory settings button, and wait for the router to restart, and for the Test
    light to turn off.
The factory default settings will be restored so that you can access the router from your Web
    browser using the factory defaults.

    Hello
As I said in another post, I thank everyone in the forum for any help I get.
For those more skilled at tweaking etc it is an option but we were half dead and got another router with lifetime phone suppoort. Both machines are up and running.
However, I do thank you for taking the time.
