Netscape brings up numerous dos windows in taskbar

    Windows 98 machine......When logged on the program netscp is running in the program list and it keeps popping up bars in the taskbar. The bars have the dos logo on it and they just keep running until I end the task netscp. How do I get rid of this problem?

    I ran all those steps and it didn't fix the problem. I am going to try TDS-3 or maybe a reinstall of netscape?

    You could try post your HijackThis log. I'm not sure if the problem will show. If you do decide to reinstall, I would first uninstall and then reboot before reinstalling.

    You should read the tutorial in this Sticky thread NO HIJACK THIS LOG FILES BEFORE READING THIS: HJT Tutorial & LOG File Posting

    Now post a HijackThis as a .txt file attachment to your message. All running programs should be closed, including your web browser, e-mail, items in the tray, anything you can close... Close before running Hijack This!

    Do NOT run Hijack This from the Desktop, a temp folder or choose run it directly from the downloaded ZIP file. Place it in its own folder, for example C:\Program Files\HJT

    I got the problem to stop but still don't understand what was wrong. I installed Netscape 7.2 and the problem stopped all together? The previous version was 7.1 the only problem is it couldn't be uninstalled it would come up with a registry error.

    Maybe the reg error was part of the problem.
