Netscape - its advantages and drawbacks?

A friend of mine have asked me what are the advantages and drawbacks of Netscape and its mail program.

Since I've never used this software, I'd like to get some of your opinions...

Netscape was my favorite...pre aol infection...but now dam ugly.

I use IE just because it's easy.

 

Actually, its the websites that dont provide Netscape support.

Being a semi-pro web designer, me and my coleague made the decision to stop putting in netscape compatible code into most of our websites. However, we do provide "mozilla" compliant code, which theoretically the same as netscape, but netscape has its own little neuances (sp?), like spans and object/embed tags, which it handles differently. Not to mention the Javascript DOM being rather different.

The advantages of it are that it doesnt intergrate with the OS quite as closly as IE, and you tend to have more control over plugins that are being run, and popups have less privilaged, and badly coded ones wont work at all. Its a bit hit and miss though.

Myself I would either go with Mozilla (firefox preferably) or plain old IE. I use Firefox because its more secure and faster than IE, even if it doesnt like Iframes much.
