netster

Hi,
How difficult is it to remove netster? when i view tools in spybot, it shows that i have netster activex but when i run spybot or adware nothing comes up, it shows cleans. I searched online for any files associated with netster and deleted some dlls and registry keys but didnt find any programs at add/remove or the activex in the dowloaded programs files folder. I try to fix it through hijack but it reappears. Is there any way to deleted it or i've already deleted it and it just saws false positive.. should it be of any concern?

when you click on tools and select ActiveX, all your objects are listed. Select the netster object and click the giant red X at the top

 

thanks for your reply, i did that. but it doesnt delete it. I dont know why. I deleted another activex for itunes detector just to see if it deletes something and it does delete, but i cant seem to delete that. I even tried with safe booting but still nothing.

 

can you paste the objects information to a reply here so I can look at it?

damn. right stuff but no info. Well, you may want to run our tutorial . If you had that, you could have other stuff you weren't aware of.

What does that info show, does it mean that i have it. Cause i run norton antivirus daily and doesnt show anything and i even ran antivirus in safe boot last week and didnt find anything or spybot, adware or hijack this. I ran all of those in safe boot didnt find anything and even disabled system restore before just to be sure. Only that nester keeps showing in spybot activex controls. And i do run spywareblaster and spyguard.

it's only partial info. No file name etc. you have a registered control that has no file. I don't think it's there anymore but it wasn' t removed all the way registry wise and that could be why it's still being picked up.

do me a favor. I'm going to have you skip to posting me a log because you're not complaining about your pc much except that one thing.

ok. well here is a copy of my log. i tried fixing the entries with not file name but they keep coming back. After i did hijack in safe boot and unrestore disabled. And you are right other than that think i havenet had any problems with my pc.

i downloaded and ran it, it found 2 minibug and wildtagent(this from from AIM) i remember i had this long time ago and thought spybot or adware had it removed but minibug first time i see. Nothing though on netster.

 

It's probably not an acttive object then. The vicitim of a bad removal. Though the key still exists the object does not. Search your registry for the CLSID of the object.

i searched under hkey classes root and local machine, clsid and couldnt find the key. Thanks for the help though.
