netwoking with out router , aol isp

    hi i have got AOL and i have been told that you cant network with just cross over cables and some say you can.

    can anyone tell me how i can network my pc's together with a crossover cable ...both pc's have network cards or built in RJ45 sockets.

    a crossover cable is used to connect things that are alike, such as nic card to nic card, so you can connect two pc's with a crossover cable. Its the cheapest easiest way to connect two pc's
