    Hi all,

First off here are my pc specs:
    ECS A790GXM-AD3 mobo
AMD Phenom II x2 555 procie
    Inno3D GeForce GTS 250 gpu
    8gb ram
    Windows 7

I've had this rig for almost a year now, built it from scratch and I haven't had problems with it until now. Problem is, my PC isn't recognizing or detecting my on-board network adapter. This started a 4 days ago when I got home and the PC refused to turn on. The power supply was fine, all the fans were working, it just wouldn't boot up. I didn't know what was wrong so I decided to take it all apart, clean the insides in the process, and put it all back in. This got it up and running again and everything was fine.

The problem occurred when I turned it back on the next morning. I couldn't connect to the internet cause it wasn't detecting my network adapter. I restarted the PC a good 2-4 times before I got it to run again. I'd be able to use the internet for the entire day but then, come next morning, it would repeat itself. Sometimes the green and orange LED lights would blink continuously and turn off when I get to the windows home screen. And sometimes it just wouldn't blink at all from start up. Now no matter what I try, it just won't detect the adapter.

I've read a lot of suggestions and tried everything from:
    Removing RAM 10-30mins
    Removing GPU 10-30mins
    Reseting CMOS
Turning the PC on w/o RAM and putting it back afterwards
    Uninstalled/Reinstalled latest Realtek Driver
Unticking “Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power” (Did this when the system was able to detect the adapter)

    Nothing seems to work.

Looking forward to your replies and thanks in advanced for the time and help.

I tried other cables too. None of it works. I'm beginning to think it's a hardware issue. Something like the network adapter is fried... or something.

I assume that you can boot to windows but just cant connect to the net?

Can you see the device in device manager? Does it have an yellow exclamation mark next to the network card?

I can boot to windows just fine. The PC just doesn't detect the network card. It doesn't show up in Device Manager. "Network Adapter" should be underneath "Monitors" but it's not there.

I tried to run the PC again earlier, turned it on 3 times. Its LED lights don't even light up now. I won't be able to reply to this post till much later cause I've got class. Just wanted to let you know.

Assuming that your Network adapter is on your motherboard I suspect you have/had a grounding short between the motherboard and the motherboard tray. Try taking all the components out of the case and put it together on a table on a piece of non-conductive wood or card and see if that makes a difference.

I'll try dismantling it again. I'll get back to you after I've placed everything back together. Thanks

Dont put it back together in the case until you have confirmed that is working outside of the case.
