My computer was playing up with the Internet connection dropping off every now and then at random times.

I downloaded new drivers for the network adaptor (Intel I217-v) and now all connections have completely disappeared and there is a red circle in the system tray icon saying no connections available and in the network adaptor section of the control panel nothing is showing up where previously the adaptor would be.

I've tried reinstalling windows 10 but I've still got the same issue and now can't get on the Internet with the pc

    Help!!

We need more info on Specs.

Download and use Speccy Speccy 1.32.740 and load it up to here.

The Intel drivers have some basic network card tests built into them. May want to try to use that feature. The only other idea is to try another network card in your computer and see if the issue persists.

I have been looking around on information to this problem. It appears you are not the only one having this issue. But we still need more info on your system.Mainly Your motherboard and what computer you are using.

If you are using Chrome web browser there is a possibility this could be affecting your connection.

Google Chrome Browser uses at the background an experimental protocol, the QUIC protocol.

This causes random crashes. The connection of the Intel i219-V.Since you have the Intel I217-version,this could be a problem.

    Read this info.

There is all so another possibility your Anti - Virus software could be effecting this.Try disabling this and see if that works.

I would all so check into your internet service provider or ISP for short. This could be a modem issue.I would call them up and have then test the modem and reset it.

If this is an ASUS motherboard then, from what i am reading there are major problems with these boards.I have read complaints all the way back to 2013.

But first Run the performed and diagnostic test in the options.

Can you still see the NIC in Device Manager?

Uninstall the dodgy driver through control panel, enter DM and select the option that lets windows find the driver update needed for the nic.
