Network Cable Management

Hello guys! Been awhile.

Got a question. We have a shelf full of unused network cables that we keep on hand for our users. They are unsightly and I was looking for something like a rack or hanger system that I could mount to the wall and keep them hanging nice and neat instead of the snarled mess in the shelf we have now.

Any suggestions?

 

I'd suggest something like this:

So you can put your pegs in and hang the wrapped cables off it.

 

Cheap option-

Try and get hold of a used cheap display rack from a supermarket,the ones that display keyrings and things,that's what most of the PC repair shops I frequent use.

If you want to wrap the cables in a circular fashion for display (the way they usually come out of the bag new) without using tape, these are fantastic:

They're designed as price tag holders; however they act as a mini-zip tie that can be broken by hand, no cutting required - and, at around 3 bucks for a pack of 1,000, they're dirt cheap.

From there, either go the pegboard and hook route at Home Depot or look for a going-out-of-business sale where you might find more stylish slatwall and slatwall hooks.

 

All good choices, or you can also use Paper Towel or Toilet Tissue tubes to store them in.

Cool idea! If I use scented cores from Charmin, my cables will even smell fresh. :-D
