    Hey guys,

It's been a while since I've posted but I'm having a little trouble. I've done some research and looked through the forums and cannot find anything that'll help me.

My problem is that I keep getting disconnected from my internet. No matter what I'm doing or even on the desktop about every 3-5 minutes I get this little message in the bottom right that says " network Cable unplugged" and my internet dies for maybe 15-20 seconds and then it's back up and running fully.

I only really noticed this maybe 2-3 weeks ago but it seems to be getting worse (more consistent).

I've tried unplugging my Ethernet cable from the back of my computer and from the router and nothings fixed it. I thought maybe the wire had ben pinched or something somewhere but I followed it all the way and everythings good. I even switched my computer off of port 2 on the router and put it into port 1 and it still happens.

I'm running windows Xp home and there 3 computer in my house all sharing the internet connection through a wired router.

Please help me. This causes me a ton of lag while playing CoD2 online and we all know that isn't fun.

    Thanks in advance
    Harrold

does it happen on all computers? or just the one? try hooking the computer up directly to the modem and see if it still does it...

Ok, So I went around to each computer and no none of the other computers have this problem. I tried hooking this computer up to the modem and it just gets worse. I lost all internet and it said there was Limited or no connectivity.

This is the worst thing ever... Someone has to help me. I'm getting frustrated.

    Try a different cable first.

If it's not that then you have an intermittent fault on the network interface card(NIC). If the card is separate from the motherboard, try reseating it or plugging it into a different pci slot. If it is part of the motherboard its cheaper and easier to slot in a new card than repair the motherboard.
