Network Card problem

Hi all,

I having a problem with the network card in my laptop...
The card is a Intel® PRO/1000 MT.
The problem is that when i try connect my blueyonder 1mb internet to it via ethernet on my modem, it ses that its connected on the laptop, but i cant get on the internet or anything...but when i try the usb option on the modem everything works fine. I have to use ethernet, because im just about to setup up a network in my home.

Does anybody know how to fix this. any advice is appreciated,

Sorry, Im not much help, only a suggestion. If the usb hook up works then maybe just use that connection. If you need the port for other peripherals then get a usb hub.

I think I have an answer for you minus any hardware issues or network settings that are not set properly. It sounds like when you first installed your modem it was hooked up USB, correct? Well that MAC address registered with your ISP and or Modem. Now you want to go to Ethernet and that card has a different MAC and your ISP/Modem is not accepting it. I had the exact same problem a little over a year ago with a cable modem I set up in VA. on a trip. Call your ISP and tell them what the problem is. I understand that some ISP's rely on the MAC that gets registered with the Modem and some do not. All they have to do is reset the modem from there end, just by knowing your Tel # and start fresh with just the ethernet. Check on that and let us know.
