Network Communications Between Windows 10 Version 2004 Computers

I have 5 computers on my network and they can all communicate back and forth except for the 1 problem I will try to describe. It concerns an older laptop running Windows 10 version 20H2 and connected to WiFi. I can communicate with it from every other computer except the one I consider my main computer. When I try I get an error dialog which I will post an attachment of. Even though I cannot communicate with the laptop from my main computer, I can communicate from the laptop to the main computer. From the other 3 computers on my network there is absolutely no problem at all. There must be some setting that is not correct on my main computer, but I cannot figure it out.



Any ideas how to correct this problem.

I've been having the same problem recently, possibly since upgrading to 10.2004, read this. I haven't yet found an answer but the workaround is to set a fixed IP for your laptop and address it by IP rather than by name in Explorer. An IP address is in the format \\192.168.x.xx or whatever your router uses for networking, and you can use this for mapping a network drive, or for creating a desktop shortcut and so on.

 

Thank you. However, I have already done that. The problem is the IP address, though the same address as the computer's name, does not play nice with a program called MYFolders which has all my mapped folders listed in it using the computer's name. It is just awfully strange that only one of my computers has this problem and, of course, it would have to be the one I use all the time.

My problem started when I updated Win. 10 ver. 1909 to September's MS updates. Hoping installing version 2004 would fix it, I installed that but still have the same problem.
