Network connected but no Internet

Help.

I access the Internet via a wireless network. Last night my computer stopped connecting to the Internet.

Nothing seems to have changed: I am connected to the network, the signal strength is the same as usual, etc. It's just that when I open the browser (I tried both Firefox and IE.), there is no Internet, it says it can't connect to the server.

I have thought of the possibility that the Internet on the router-connected computer is down. It's in my complex but I will need to ask the person who owns that computer.

Are there any things I can try other than this?

Answer is probably that they have locked you from using their Internet connection.

 

Do you mean that they have secured a previously unsecured network? If so, I have the WEP key entered, and there is an understanding that I am using the network. It's okay with the router-owner.

Any other possibilities?

 

Well you could try asking the owner why you cant use the Internet, thats your best bet.

 

Hey guys lets try to make some helpful suggetions.

Now first thing i would suggest is going in windows wireless config, and delete any wireless networks you have already set to connect. Then manualy searching for the network via the find wireless networks and trying to connect retyping the routers wep key since you have it. If not then definitly contact the router owner for more suggestions.
