Network connection issues

  1. I have Comcast High-Speed and recently I have been having troubles with keeping my connection. My router has all the lights Power, cable, PC and the flashing light Data are doing their usual but every once in awhile when I try to access the internet through Firefox it says "Cannot find network" but the router is fine and when I go to my computer my LAN Connection is Connected. So it has happen 3 times in one day and the temporary solution i have found is unplugging the power wire from the router for 30 sec. and plug it back in. I works but still disconnects after awhile. I'm wondering if anyone knows a permanent solution or any solution for that matter.

    Thanks in advance

I would try using a different browser for a while. If the same thing happens using Opera or IE, then chances are it's the router (since unplugging it for a little bit seems to correct the problem). If a different browser 'fixes' the issue, then chances are that something has gone haywire in Firefox (highly unlikely) and it should be re-installed.

If you open a command prompt box and type in
    ipconfig /release
then follow this by ipconfig /renew
can FF then find the internet? If so, maybe a setting in your router is timing out the length of the IP lease.
What is your brand and model of router?
