    Hey everyone,
    Brief backstory:
Re-installed Win7 32 bit and installed drivers and utility disc.
The PC can access internet when connected by cable but not using wifi.
Big red cross on the icon with the message "not connected, no connections available".

Checked device manager and found that there is no driver showing for the network controller.

I've had a look around but I'm not sure which driver is the right one.
Can anyone help me out with a link to the one I need please ?

The hardware ID string for the wifi card is:

    PCI/VEN_1814&DEV_0302&SUBSYS_3A711186&REV_00

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

    Thanks for the link.
I installed the driver (from a USB stick) but unfortunately the wifi still isn't working.

Same big red cross, same message.

I'll have to shut it down for now and get back to it tomorrow.
I'll connect the PC via cable and try downloading again, maybe something went wrong in the transfer.

If you have any other suggestions, please don't be shy. :)

    Thanks again.

    You can try this

    http://www.majorgeeks.com/Driver_Fusion_Driver_Sweeper_d6171.html

    running it in normal mode
when the process is finished you must restart your machine
running it in safe mode ( push F8 ) during start up
when the process is finished you must restart your machine

uninstalling all previous leftovers before you try the new installation even you can download this

    http://www.majorgeeks.com/CPU-Z_d425.html

navigating to mainboard tab to give the model of your motherboard ensuring your driver :wave

    Ok, I'm an idiot. :-o

    The solution :
Take the PCI card out and re-install it.

I had to scan for hardware and check for driver updates in Device Manager but it works.

Thanks again for the advice, I've saved it all for future reference.
