    Hello MGs,

I have an issue on my windows 7 hp laptop. It is a pavilion dv6 made in 2010.
As stated in the title, the issue is that my laptop will lose all connectivity to the internet, even though it states Im still connected to my router and still have internet access. This only occurs when i am playing a video game(league of legends) on my laptop. This will be instantly fixed with a reboot, but can happen again within around 10-50 minutes later if Im still playing. Ive had this happen to me three times in 2 hours before. The strange things is other times i can play the game for numerous hours with no issue. This laptop is known for haing a heating issue, however i take precautions by making sure the vent is slightly elevated to allow air to flow through. I previously did a fresh install of windows through hps minimal recovery( Installs OS and little to no bloatware. They didnt evven bother including Microsoft word starter on it) lol. I did this in an attempt to rectify the problem but the issue remains. Thanks for any help you can provide.

    Greetings, enemy1...

If you're 100% positive that the symptom only appears when you're playing League of Legends I suggest that you try the following:

    1. Visit the HP support site and make sure that you load any updated device drivers (especially video) for your machine. I would point you to the specific page, but there are over 300 'Pavilion dv6' models - you'll have to drill down to find your correct specs.

    2. Visit the League of Legends Bug Report forum to see if you can find any posters with problems similar to yours, with possible hints for solutions.

    3. Install DPC Latency Checker, a small free program which attempts to identify any potential dropout culprit(s).

    Thanks for replying.
I am not sure if it is specifically related to the game or not. I downloaded the drivers from hp website(2 were wireless related) however the problem still occurred once since then. The issue is not found on the LoL website as far as I could see. The DPC program said some of my drivers might be causing a problem, but it wasn't specific.

One thing i have noticed is, a hard reset does not fix the issue(pulling the plug on my laptop) vs a soft reset(actually clicking reset in Windows 7). It will work after a soft reset. Also just yesterday I played for three or four hours with no problem while today i had an issue after one hour. A soft reset took care of the issue and I haven't had any problems since then. The loss of connection doesn't follow any pattern.
