Network Neighborhood

Thanks in advance to those trying to solve my following problems.

1/ I right click the Network Neighborhood icon and select properties which does not come at all.It means the properties has gone.How do I get this Network Neighborhood properties back?

2/ I hv accidently remove items [programs] from add and remove panels thru the registry though all those program can still run normal.How do I put all those back to the add and remove panel?

I am using Win98se

 

When removing from the registry,did you make a backup?

 

My suggestion would be to uninstall the Network completely through the Control Panel, reboot(Network Neighborhood icon should be gone from the desktop) and install it again(Network Neighborhood icon should reappear).

If you have used a smart utility(Not regedit) to remove the uninstall information then it might be able to restore them.
If you want to uinstall the a program then hope it has provided a link to uninstall in the Start Menu.
You could also reinstall the programs on top of the existing installation, this should recreate the uninstall option in the Add/Remove thing.
You could also use the SCANREG utility in DOS to backup the current registry, then restore an old registry, and then export the uninstall information from the registry(Containing your wanted Add/Remove), and restore the backup and import the uinstall information to the registry(Restore the wanted Add/Remove).

 

Problem now is I didnt do back ,anyother suggestion?
