network reset

    When I browse, there are times that the page says that my connection was reset...please retry. I use firefox and I have Vista 64bit. I have cable internet connection. :confused
    My question is : does this mean that someone is piggy backing my system? or is it just my cable connection that is just unstable? rolleyes :confused

    Hi

    Could be that your connection is unstable, what type of service are you using, DialUp, DSL, Cable, Satelite?

    Are you using WiFi or LAN to connect your PC? if WiFi then test with the LAN cable plugged in.

    Clean up your temps and cookies, and also make sure your Adobe Flash and Sun Java are latest versions.

    Is your Firefox latest version?
    Run Firefox in its Safe Mode as this adds no addons as one of them maybe poor code and causing an issue with specific pages.

    Do you use AVG as your Antivirus? if so disable the Link Scanner and test again.

    I have cable and PC is connected to a modem. My cookies and temps are always erased upon signing out of browser. Yes I do have latest Firefox browser as it updates regularly. I use Avast Antivirus. I also use Commodo firewall. I've done the safemode and disable link scanners....

    It is probably my modem that is out of date since all other things have been dealt with. Time to go back to cable company {Rogers Cable} and get a newer modem version. Modem is only several years old and it is rented via cable company. Hope that is the issue. If not... Rogers Cable are going to be answering some questions...
