Hi, I have got a new laptop and am trying to connect to the internet via my wireless router. It has found it but is asking for a network security key, what would this be? I am not aware of having set anything up.

    Thanks

    Hi Taraj

The key its asking for is the one that is setup in your wifi router as the WEP/WPA/PSK encryption key, in the most part for many UK ISPs this is found on the bottom or side of your router.

If you cannot find then try this app Wireless Key View to see if it can find it.

Otherwise do tell us what Windows version you are using, and what router/modem you have or your ISP (internet service provider)? as we may need to enter the routers menus to either check on the key or repalace it with one you can remember.
