    Heys guys, For a week or two now my internet every so often keeps disconnecting and re-connecting itself automatically, it can happen once an hour or 5 times an hour it's really not predictable.

    I've got cable broadband 20mb with Belkin g+ mimmo wireless router and there is 2 pc's on the network. When my computer disconnects so does the other pc at exactly the same time and when it disconnects it only happens for 2-3 seconds then i'm connected again. This wouldn't be much of a problem but me and my brother both plays games so when it disconnects us from the game can be very annoying.

    The thing is is i disconnected the whole network and just put the cable broadband straight into one pc from the modem without going through the wireless modem and my internet has not disconnect for 5-6 hours which it's never done for past week or so .. so i'm assuming it's my wireless router is doomed. Problem is the wireless modem that i bought i've only had for 6 months and i don't see why it would break already. This is the modem i have;

    I've gone into the modems settings and checked for firmware updates and it's upto-date already.

    Do you think i should just buy a new router or could there be any other cause? Thanks for reading and thanks in advance for any help.

    does the router get too hot?
    try checking for a firmware update manually, sometimes the auto update isn't perfect.

    didn't see exactly, are the pc's wireless or wired?

    I don't think the router is getting too hot, it's not in an enclosed area and the fact that the connection loss can happen 5-10 minutes within the PC's being on i can't imagine it being overheated.

    I checked manually and there is no firmware updates.

    One is wired and the other is USB wireless.

    you might want to reset the router to factory settings, and just use the wired connection first, and see if you still get the problem, then, attach (wired or wireless) one device at a time and see if you can repeat the problem.

    I'll give that a try, baffles me that this problem has just happened i haven't done nothing out of the ordinary.

    At the moment i've still got the main cable going from my ISP modem straight into my pc at the moment not had 1 single trouble the whole day. I will un-install all the belkin modem and usb adapter etc. and start again and let you know how i get on.

    Thanks for the quick responses.:p

    Are you asking these same questions in another thread?

    Nope, the other thread was asking about my IP addresses then it sort of got onto the subject of this thread.

    By the way...

    I un-installed the belkin router and the usb wireless adapter and just had the wire cable going into my pc and it ran smooth all day no problems at all then when i install the router and usb adapter the problem is back again.
