Network Utilization

I don't know where this post needs to be so it would be nice if you can move it where in needs to be. Lately my Network Utilization has been below 1% and its as if the network is ignoring my browser. I use Firefox cuz I was told not to use IE do to security stability. I think a hidden background program is using the network and my Task Manager cannot see it. I use Charter Communications as my provider. My computer runs on Windows 7 Home Premium. Here is what I need:

1. A program that can increases network utilization for browsers, chat programs, and MMO games.

2. A program that can show me what currently is communicating from my computer to my network and Visa/Versa, even hidden programs.

3. An internet provider than is more reliable and maybe cheaper than Charter Communications.

 

I figured out the issue and its cuz I got too many Host sites connecting to my computer and I need someone to help me identify which host sites I can remove and which ones I need to keep. I already know I need to remove the porn host sites but theres so many host sites that I can't seem to clean'em all up... Yes, I know I should of never gotten on those sites but when the urges come who can deny them. :-o
