I have a cable modem connected to a router. I know the router works because I am tying this from my roommates computer. Pinging 127.0.0.1 works. The lights are all correct on the modem, router and network card. I tried a new card (Netgear 311FA) that was the same type as the old card. I noticed the problem started when I installed my new Creative Labs sound card. Any help would be much appreciated.

I do not know what the problem is?

But since it occured after you installed the Audio Card, I would check the IRQ table and make sure that there is No Hardware Conflict.
