Networking 2 computers together

    ok im sure this is a stupid question but i honestly dont remember if this is possible...
    i got 2 computer towers, 1 monitor, and all the wires for both towers now what i want to do is network them together without having another monitor and all how exactly would i do this? if at all possible... i had a friend tell me it is but he "couldnt tell me the 'secret' to it" please clarify
