networking blues ( firewall problems)

Hi all.
Ive recently set up two computers and im trying to set up ICS.
Both computers are able to share files/printers and hold hand and so such.
but i cant seem to get the net working on the slave computer.

Its set up as follows

Dlink DSL-200 modem (USB) on my computer (Master) with ZA Pro Firewall
and the Slave computer is connected thru a crossover with SP2 firewall.

i think its something to do with my firewal; becuase wen i turn it off the Slave accesses the net fine.

Ip addresses are as follows (all assigned by microsoft network setup wizard)
Master = 192.168.0.1
Slave = 192.168.0,172

In ZA i got the pop up saying "new network found" and its ip address was 192.168.0.0 and i set it to "trusted zone".
ZA is configured to be a ICS under the gateway of 192.168.0.1

Im not sure wat im doing wrong here but is it becase the Slaves ip isnt 192.168.0.2 (the next logical increment) or because ZA isnt stating the new network as 192.168.0.172????

Any thoughts and suggestions please

Are you using a router to access the internet with both computers? Just wondering, as we have difficulties there at times & have had to call our router manufacturer to "clone mac addresses".

 

na mate. the modem is connected to Master using USB, then Master and Slave are connected thru crossover LAN

 

OK ok new question:

Will the Nforce 4 Nvidia Hardware firewall and SP2 firewall protect me sufficiently?

And is there a way i can poke around at my nforce4 nvidia hardware firewall? its built into my motherboard.
