My computer keeps crashing due to high cpu rates. I clean installed xp hoping problem might go away, sadly it did not. I'm not running any memory eating programs, which leads me 2 believe my registry is infected. Have run symantec, counterspy (log attatchment included) cc, and spybot. Also have a hijack this log file attatched. Bitdefender caused my computer 2 crash and I'm looking for help. Any would be appreciated. Thanks!

It is extremely doubtful that you have malware after a "clean install" ...I would suggest you post in either the hardware or software section as this could be either .....and Welcome to MG's.

Having to answer here as you started a thread in Malware, which is restricted, not Software or Hardware as Tim suggested.

With Spybot, are you running the TeaTimer option?

Thanks for the idea -maybe it is a hardware issue- but I don't know. If you have suspicions feel free to post.

any idea which process is eating your cpu cycles? pop open the task manager to see what percentage of your processing power each process is using. Also, you might try re-seating your cpu, ram, etc.
