New Amd Chip Verses Intel Talk

    Ok soon this year AMD is going to come out with a brand new cpu.

    I am going to wait to build a new one this year.

    I hope this new cpu can stack up to intel I 7.

    I like amd better be cause of the price range.Intel cost is far to high.

    I agree on price point from Intel to AMD, but the deciding factor for me is that Intel chipsets are fairly bombproof, experience with AMD ones is they are patchy at times. I think I would need to see a straight fight off between latest AMD and Intel chips, but real world usage stats. Maybe just me being used to working with Intel chipsets and the issues around them at times with drivers.

    I went back to AMD on my last build. Mine is an older one, an AMD FX 6300 Six core at 3.5GHz, so not the latest and greatest. It has performed very well for me, zero driver issues (except for one with a NVidia GPU). Works well, and was a lot cheaper than Intel's offerings.

    Would be great to see some good competition between AMD and Intel. We would benefit with faster, cheaper 'puters.
