    I've downloaded speedupmypc twice, and was stymied both times. It won't allow me to register, which is probably why it won't allow me to scan. It's been recommended to me by someone in the know, and I'd like to give it a shot. I don't know if it's related to my CDP1 issue, which I can't get rid of. I've tried everything on the CDP1. A registered version of the latest Kaspersky, uninstalling and reinstalling the latest version of all AOL, and several lesser methods. I need aol for my business address, besides, I'm pretty sure CDP1 disguises itself in aol, when it's actually something else. Any help on these two issues would be greatly appreciated.

    Speedupmypc is a scam, stay away from it. Uninstall it.
    Specifically, what are your issues. You want to uninstall CDP1 and can't? Is it in your add/remove programs?
    Are there issues with your computer?
    Please provide OS, make/model computer, how much RAM, anti virus and other security software, capacity and usage of HD, and as much detail about any problems you are having as possible.
    The better the information you give out, the better the answers will be. :wave:wave:wave

    TY Brandy Peppy. CDP1 isn't in my add/remove. It magically appears in my taskbar with the aol icon, seperate from the normal "aol.com Welcome to aol", whenever I attempt to open aol directly. It creates a large blank blue screen. I can close it, sometimes after several attempts, but it disables aol to the point where only my mail works. If I open aol with google chrome, it's fine. I've completely uninstalled aol and reinstalled the latest version several times, to no avail. Not using aol is not an option, my business email has been with them for years. I cleaned my machine with a registered version of Kaspersky 2010, before switching to my provider's(Comcast)Norton Security. Again, no luck. I suspect this is one reason why I am running so very sloooow. I have an HP Pavilion a6500z with Home Basic Vista. I have 1GB of RAM. HP(C:) 161 GB free of 222GB, Factory Image(D:) 963 MB free of 10.0 GB. I would greatly appreciate any help.

    Oddly enough, I can find numerous postings on this CDP1, but no solutions.:confused:confused

    So try this, get Winpatrol;
    http://majorgeeks.com/WinPatrol_d3380.html

    Download and run. Click the startup tab and start disabling processes. Be sure to leave your anti virus on.

    Most machines have way to many processes on startup, you don't even need AOL running here, it will run just fine when you need it.

    Don't know if this will solve your problem, but it's a start and it will speed things up.

    Also get and run this program, along with it's registry cleaner;

    Select the registry backup when prompted. :wave:wave
