New Build reboots self

I recently built computer with following specs:

Newconn Mother Board
Intel Quad 2.4 Processor
Sony DVD Drive
Maxtor 500GB SATA
2Gb single channel RAM

From beginning had cheap case with spacers that were too small, would not run until I got better spacers and new case.

After finally booting, could not get Vista 64 OEM to load. Finally installed XP Pro and got system running. Ran great.

Now it reboots itself for no reason. Seems random, sometimes will run for hours without reboot.

Does anybody have any ideas why?

Could MB or Processor been damaged due to spacer problems?

Any help would be appreciated!!!

What PSU do you have? An underpowered PSU will cause random crashes.

To eliminate the case as a problem, remove the mobo and all from the case and run it on a box. See my FrankenFolder in the pic below. :-D

 

I have 600w atx power supply which is plenty for system.

New case is great, two fans and plenty of ventiliation. Doubt its case.

I'm affraid that old case caused MB or processor damage.

 

Swapped cpu and system works fine.

What do you mean dlb? That CPU is very happy. Note the fan on the right of the picture. It would most likely be ok passive. It is just a GPU borg, not stressing the CPU too much, and look at the size of that sink...

And PBODY, glad you got it fixed! Been a while was wondering what happened.

Dlb, borg #3 (the one in the picture) may get a case thursday, depends on what I have going on. Got the case, who knows what I will be doing though...
