New build - wont boot

    AMD 3700+ 64
    PCChips M861G mobo
    hynix DDR400 512meg
    Samsung spinpoint HDD
    Samsung 52X CDROM

    I've tried installing XP Pro Reduced Media and XP Pro and it has had trouble installing (hanging on device install at 34 minutes to go).

    It will boot in safe mode and I've installed drivers from the mobo disc but am getting nowhere.

    Help?!?!

    Yes I'll go with CK, try reseating your memory and see if that fixes it, also have you tried another disc ??.

    Can you give a little more information on your hardware? PSU, Video card, HDD specs, RAM specs. And, what Exactly IS the problem? can you not get past the BIOS screen? Do read an error that says something like "NO BOOTABLE DISC"? What exactly is the problem?

    Let it run ....depending on your system, installation often "hangs" ....just really slow ....don't believe the "time left to finish" messages ....have had installations sit with 13 minutes left for over two hours ...:) :)

    I agree with TimW. I've also had "2 minutes remaining" for maybe 20 minutes.

    Try setting it running overnight because time is always quicker then! :)
