I just installed a Assembly, DVD+/RW, 16X, Sonny Nec Optiarc Inc., SATA BLK in my DELL Optiplex 980 Windows 7 64 bit computer and it does not recongized it! How can I get it to work?

I would go into the BIOS setup (most Dell's you press the F1 key when you first power it up) and make sure the SATA channel you connected the drive to is set to ENABLED. Each SATA connector is a separate channel and unless they are set to auto in the BIOS (and I'm not sure if that's an option in your BIOS) you have to go into the BIOS and turn it on for the system to be able to find the drive.
