My home computer system has an Archer C7 AC1750 Wireless Dual Band Router that's hardwired to two computers and also connected to a third computer via a wireless connection.

Although I've been working with PCs since 1982, I'm a brand new cellphone user and I would like to know if and how I can connect the cellphone to the router. Or even if I need to. Where can I find information that would help me get started with this?

Wow... I thought I was the LAST holdout and even I have had my mobile for a few years now! Cell phones connect to your home Wifi wirelessly. Apple and Android are different, but not by that much. More or less.. on your phone, tap 'Settings'... 'Wifi'... scroll up/down to see the list of routers and look for yours on that list. Then tap it and follow instructions (which are basically to enter the router Wifi password). Once connected, you'll see the Wifi symbol at the top of your phone display - and you're all set.

When outdoors and you want to connect to public Wifi's (restaurants, airports, hotels, etc.) - it's the same. Exercise due caution whenever utilizing public Wifi.

With a cellphone you always have 2 choices: wifi or cell data.
Is your cellphone an iPhone or android?
In android, if you scroll down from the top of the screen you get a quick tool menu. You can toggle on/off wifi and cell as well as other things.

Make sure wifi is turned on. (The icon will be blue instead of gray).
