I know this might be a stupid question but basically, i have a crappy Pentium 3 Processor Compaq Presario. I placed out an order for the 3000 Dell Desktop Pentum 4 that just arrived. Even though i know more about computers than my father, he would probably know excatly how to transfer the programs that we have on this computer to the new dell. But honestly i am too impatient to wait for him to get home so i want to go ahead and hook the dell up. Basically i need to know how can i transfer the programs that i have from this computer (McAfee Anti Virus, Comcast High Speed Internet, and most importantly Microsoft XP). I dont have a zip drive thing to save everything on this computer and load it on the other computer. and i'm not sure if i can just reinstall those programs on the new computer (since u have to sign up and pay for those programs) What i would like to know is if there is any way i can transfer these main programs on my new computer after i hook it up, or is there away i can load them on the other computer with the installment CDs i have. If you have any questions please ask.

    Thanks.

connect the 2 computers via ethernet cross-over cable, or if you have a switch then use 2 patch cable

then simply use the file and transfert wizard from Windows Xp

    should go vewwwy fine ;)

except for the windows xp....you need 2 different cds and 2 different cdkey

you just can't copy it from one computer to another...same for the "installed" programs
