I just got a new computer and my online games won't load. The games are at www.uproar.com. I'm trying to play Family Feud. (Doesn't work on the Password Game either)

I click on Game Shows and then choose Family Feud. A small box pops up and goes away so fast in the bottom right of my screen, then I'm back on the page where I originally clicked on the Family Feud game. Normally, when you click on the actual game name, the game starts loading. This is really frustrating!

The little box that pops up does have a red X, and internet explorer "e" in the top left corner and in the blue title bar across the top there is a "W". The "W" is obviously the beginning of a word. The box is white and looks empty from what I can tell. I've read posts for a couple of days to see if this has happened to others but can't seem to find anything that will fix this.

In the process, I have learned so much. I have installed the security features your website mentions (firewall, adaware, automatic windows updates, etc).

I have my security settings to medium, sun java installed and enabled, downloaded macromedia... I'm using Internet Explorer but it happens in AOL as well. What am I missing?

My computer is a one week old intel pentium 4 @ 3GHz running Windows Media Center Edition.

I truly appreciate any geek wisdom you pass my way! :)

If you have SP2 installed then one of the new features is the integrated "pop-up blocker" which you could see on IE > TOOLS > INTERNET OPTIONS > PRIVACY. Or another 3rd party pop-up blocker/IE toolbar could be the cause.
Also you could try this quick workaround to see if it helped, before clicking on the 'Play Family Feud now', hold down the CTRL (control) key then click on the link...

Thanks so much for your input!

Under tools - internet options - privacy ... I have it set to Medium. Where would it show me about a pop-up stopper in the privacy option? Not sure about a 3rd party stopper in my toolbar...I haven't installed anything so there shouldn't be one as far as I know. As far as pressing the control key while the game is starting...I tried that and it doesn't make a difference.

    Any other ideas?

Hmm...I rather not, I am sorry but that site makes you surrender to doubleclick/Bizclick trackers, many pop-ups coming up and even with all shields turned off, I was not able to launch the game either but 2+ dozen pop-up windows opened up fine....I would figure out a way but seriously this is one of the sites that is known to harbor malicious codes that could cause the spyware infection...so I am hesitating to help, sorry.

Wow! I didn't realize it was that bad.

I just loved playing their games. Guess I'll have to find another place to play and chat.

    Thanks so much! ;)
