Just received my new comp from ibuypower.com yesterday.
I'm using an AMD Phenom II x6 1055T and graphics is Radeon 5770 1GB.
I started out playing City of Heroes on Ultra settings, and this is the first time this problem occurred. I turned down the graphics, and the problem continued to persist. Later, playing Sim City 4 and the occurred again. The computer will automatically restart and this is the information it gives me.

    Problem signature:
    Problem Event Name: BlueScreen
    OS Version: 6.1.7600.2.0.0.768.3
    Locale ID: 1033

I take it this is only happening when you play games, normal Windows use (web browsing, email, etc.) work OK?

I would use the following link and make sure you are using the latest drivers for that video card: http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/Pages/index.aspx .

Yes, I uninstalled the drivers, restarted my cpu and downloaded the latest drivers again to make sure it was all correct, and the problem has still not been corrected. The only thing I can think is that it may be a faulty card?

If you copy C:\Windows\Minidump\030911-14648-01.dmp (and others?) to your Desktop, zip it and attach it to your next post, I'll try a little debugging, see if we have some clues there.

I've looked at the first and last of those dumps, both 0x124's; given that the PC is new, I'd be asking for a replacement.

Thanks for the help. I contacted them and they are sending me a replacement video card to see if that corrects the problem. If not, then I'll most likely take steps towards a full replacement. Thanks again.

I've been doing alot of searching about this issue I'm having with my ATI HD 5770. It seems that this problem has been going on with the 5000 series and some in the 4000 series for almost two years, and ATI has known about the problem and failed to provide a solution. Rather than RMA the card and get a new one, I've decided to upgrade to the GeForce GTX 470. Only $100 more and over double the stats. Thanks for the help guys.
