    Hello:

My computer system was fried in a power surge recently so I am forced to look at a new system. Can you let me if this system would be sufficient?
I am the average user at home who runs a business out of my house and doesn't need anything fancy.

    Brand: "Touch Athlon 64 3500+"

    • AMD Athlon 64 3500 + (2000MHz HTB, S939)
    • Microsoft Win XP Home Edition
    • ATX Midtower (Silver/Black), 350 W P.S.
    • 512 MB DDR400 + 160 GB SATA 8 MB HD
    • Onboard graphics and 6-ch audio
    • 2 piece multimedia speakers
    • RAID/8 x USB
    • 16 X DVD+/-RW Dual Layer (DL) Drive
    • Floppy Drive, LAN
    • PS2 Keyboard and Optical PS2 Mouse
[*]Asking Price $799 plus monitor costs.....

My printer is still good (HP Photosmart 7150) and scanner, plus I have a good speaker system, itellipoint keyboard and mouse.

Your thoughts, suggestions? This system would work within my budget.

      Thanks

    Seems fine :)
One thing, maybe another 512Mb RAM would be useful if your budget stretched to it, and you were using mulitple files/programs.

Like Steeev, it seems fine for what you say your usage is the AMD64 3500+ is a nice CPU, I would like him possibly if you can add another 512mb of ram if you can.

Do you also have to buy a monitor or is that part of the deal price? ( not seem too clear in the writeup )

and as you already have some parts USB KB and Mouse... all seems fine.

the specs look good but you could get a compaq like mine (sr1630NX) which has similar specs for around $500 or an hp with some extra RAM and a bigger hdd for $50-$100 more, just a suggestion, I haven't had many issues with hp.

I think it's pricey, at least compared to the local market here.

Make sure you get a proper copy of XP, and not an image or restore disc.

You will need it sooner or later, and check what the warranty covers.
