New Computer. What free programs should I download to keep it running great?

    I just purchased a new computer. What are some free programs that I can install to keep this thing running great. Antivirus, firewall? I did download Spybot and Adaware already. Is there anything else that I should download?

    Also following on from Star's post above do read through this guide How to Protect yourself from malware! as it gives you some advise on the apps listed in Star's post.

    SpywareBlaster is a must have app from those lists.

    wouldnt like your new PC to become infestated with Malware would we :)

    G'day 350Z,
    Programmes to download depend on what you want to do I suppose.
    For edtitting and getting music from Vinyl, I use "Audacity" (plus plug-ins).

    For the latest Adobe & Nero (except for the newest dreadful V7), try out this site.
