They all suck. You should give them to me instead of wasting your time on them. :p

Assuming that is a serious question, your PSU is in the weaker range for the amount of things you plan too plug in to the mobo. With a GTX260, three hard drives, and I assume an optical somewhere, two 4GB modules and a Phenom II i would get a 1000W PSU just to play it safe, especially if you plan to get more RAM some time in the future.

good ill keep that in mind, it is one i got off one of my older builds anyway:-o

I think a quality 750watt psu would be more then enough.

Also instead of buying 2 4gb kits buy 1 8gb kit that way you get all matched memory.

i cant find a 8gb kit in the pny xlr8 pc6400 RAM, believe me i've tried, but it is hard to beat pny ram

$GB modules remain expensive compared to buying two 2GB modules. From a power consumption and heat standpoint pclover is right though, the fewer modules the better.

Well you can try other ram brands like Corsair which is highly rated and people are very happy with them.

I use G.SKill and I think they have awesome cheap ram.

Yes that is true but I don't think it makes much of a diff if you have a good psu.

My computers have Kingston, Crucial, and Corsair in them. i have never had any problems with either of those brands. :)

Fair point. And frankly, a build stands or falls with the motherboard and PSU. :)

My Kingston RAM is DDR-400 HyperX. It's been running fr over five years and still no hiccups or issues at all. I am impressed.

Funny thing is, all these brand modules are made by the same handful of manufacturers. LOL

ya, thats how it is these days, i also need to know about the corsair h50 that is what im really unsure of:confused

Unfortunately I have no experience with the H50, though speaking from experience, I would be happy buying anything with the Corsair brand on it. I have a very high opinion of that company. All the same though, if you are concerned, go on the Corsair forums and ask about it there. They have a very good forum community.

Um... er... I'm an Intel girl, I don't know AMD LOL If you don't have a reply tomorrow I'll try to PM some people who do and ask them to look at your thread. :)

that would be real nice, it'll be december before i build this anyway, those after christmas sales are hard to beat, what about the asus m3n72-d:confused

:confused I must disagree. An 850w PSU is more than enough for the system. I'm currently running an almost identical setup with a 650w Antec PSU, and have NEVER, EVER had any issues. NONE. The 850w PSU will handle everything fine, and will probably handle a 2nd GTX260 if you plan to go SLI in the future. My current specs: AMD Phenom II 955BE @ 3.2ghz (stock speed); Asus M4N72-E motherboard (SLI capable); 2 x 2gb DDR2-800; 3 x SATA HDD- 750gb drive C, 320gb and 250gb data drives; GTX260 c216 video card; 2 x DVDRW (IDE); 4 x system fans (not counting the CPU cooler); all-in-one front panel media reader; floppy drive (don't laugh!); light kit; CoolerMaster Hyper212+ CPU cooler; Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit, and it's all powered by an Antec 650w PSU. So I think the current PSU at 850w (and it's a quality brand too) will be plenty. As to the CPU, I recently upgraded to the CPU & MB listed above, and I couldn't be happier. If I feel the need to go to 3.4ghz or higher, the Black Edition CPU will over clock easily, but 3.2ghz is fine. And the 955 is about $65+/- cheaper than the 965 (at Newegg), and it runs a bit cooler and uses a bit less power. If you do plan on overclocking the CPU (whatever choice you make) be sure to get a good 3rd party CPU cooler. I spent about a month researching CPU coolers before I made my purchase, and for the price, I don't think there are many (if any) coolers that will beat the CM Hyper212+.....
    ;)

ya i was hearing that the 965 is just the same thing as the 955 for less, everybody says that amd is just making money off a faster stock speed, with the h50 i coud overclock the 955 without a hickup

    Yeah, I have the Corsair H50, awesome device, OC'd my i920 2.8GHz to 4Ghz.

Also, I own the Corsair 800D case, which IMHO, is nicer than the Antec 1200. ;)

the thing i like about the h50 is that it is a all in one cooling system, thats cheap, that cools (GREAT!!!:))
