new cpu and video card

    im planing to upgrade to a x2 4800+ and a x1900xtx. i have a 430w psu and i was wondering if thats gonna work to run the video card. i dont wanna upgrade my psu if i dont have to.

    it might be fine yoo. however if u start to see problems arising then its best to upgrade to a 500W or 600W PSU....

    Your 430W is more Likely way under powered.
    Whats most important it the amout of +12v amps it can provide, a modern system requires amps in mid 30's on the total of +12v rails

    It might power up your system But for Long?
    Did you know? When a PSU burns out it can burn out other hardware & usually does!

    ill proly gonna run it with my current psu, and i save money again i will get a 500w. thanks for the help

    I have learned this the hard way! :eek:

    A quality power supply is crucial to a stable system.

    Most high end graphics card manufactures suggest a psu with 22 amps or higher on the 12V rail.
