New Dead Mobo

Hi you guys.. bought a bundled deal and installed ...
(XFX) NF2S MACH4 GRAPHICS BOARD/3000+ AMD/266 DDR (yes will upgrade)
did have running for a short while then complications set in as had lost access to floppy (not working) went to CMOS to find to switch on and have altered CMOS settings and would not boot fully. Tried the jumper which reverts back to original factory settings but still not fully booting, so I then took battery out for several hours thinking that would correct. Now I have NO boot at all. Went to XFX site but cant see any help there,, any ideas please..

 

Hi again Sergeant Major.. did all as you ordered and result is.. No video & all fans working OK.. and one Post Beep.. I await further orders..

 

Check your motherboard manual to see what a single beep means.

 

Humm, been through manual with a fine tooth comb but no reference to POST ''Beep'' s . have e'mailed company of Mobo but dont hold out much hope there and information on Mobo very scant.. so that leaves us in the realms of guess work of what the one beep means.. have tried again with just the HD lead and have got the same result... EUREKA !!! gave it one more attempt after another jumper reset and it very slowly came up (booted) and said that clock speed 166..or 133. Having read manual there was another 3 pinned jumper to set to safe mode which would start at 100mhtz which i did, I then went to BIOS and set to FSB 266. Closed then altered jumper back to pin1/2 and all seems to be well now.. all I gotta do now which was the original intention is to find how the hell i switch on the floppy in Bios. settings.. lol..Many thanks to you and The Major for you help ..

 

Hello again..(this may be a repeat) Mobo is a XFX NF2S-ALH Mach4 NVIDIA nForce DDR ATX Socket A .. I took out both sticks of Ram and positioned in different slots yesterday.. FSB Frequency set at 166 MHz and runs OK.. if I set to 200MHz it will not boot.. am to replace floppy as cant get any power there although this floppy is new..and ribbon.. thanks again for your help..

 

Hi again.. I have purchased the full v.3 registry mechanic and run it through but can find no reference to a mobo, PHD or memory speed.. have I got the correct peice of software as that is where the URL (Everest Home Edition)you gave me took me to.. ?? ie. ''registry mechanic''

 

Ok .. Found registry Mechanic OK have installed but as I said NO reference to Mobo onboard ..(the softy) as i said earlier

ps. anyone ever broke the 3rd page barrier ????

 

Hi Master.. if your refering to (kidding) re; Mobo/SPD & memory speed..yes there is not any referal to them.. list of sections to scan are...registry Integrity/Custom controls/software locations/device drivers/windows fonts/help & resources/shared programmes/startup progs./add-remove progs/virtual devices/deep reg. scan/config. files/shortcuts/C.Fixed/F Fixed.. and thats it ''Registry Mechanic V.3.0.0.28'' theres 3 options ..Scan Now.. Backup & Restore..Configuration.. and none have reference to what we want .. I await further orders ..

Hey thanks a bunch you guys and for your patience.. as simple as that in the end.. I knew I needed an upgrade of memory to DDR400 to get the best from the 3000+ CPU.. but that will have to wait to i get a few more bob.. I have another cracking prob that I have been working on for 3 weeks now but I think I best let the dust settle on this one first .. lol .. so thanks to one and all again..(all these problems started when i blew the Mobo 3 weeks ago, but that's another story)
