Has anyone tried this out yet.

Several months ago, I installed DriectX 8.0 and lost the ability to playback VCD's using Windows Media Player. Tried numerous software apps and several new codecs, but have never got that back. I am wondering if that install went beyond the capabilities of the operating system, Windows 98? Will installing 9.0 create more or solve some problems.

(Guess I'm going to have to buy a new computer someday and start using current operating systems since MS not longer supports 98! Can't eveninstall WMP 9.)
